Rahm Emanuel is a rat bastard
The New York Times reported late Monday that Iraq war veteran Paul Hackett was pulling out of the U.S. Senate race, clearing the way for U.S. Rep. Sherrod Brown to claim the Democratic nomination to face incumbent Ohio Sen. Mike DeWine.
“This is an extremely disappointing decision that I feel has been forced on me,” Hackett said, according to the New York Times story posted on its Web site.
Karl Frisch, Hackett’s spokesman, said he had not yet spoken to Hackett about the decision to quit the Senate race.
“Until I’ve spoken with him, his comments to The New York Times stand,” Frisch said.
National Democrats turned up the pressure on Hackett over the weekend, openly asking him to leave his campaign for the Senate and take a second shot at a Cincinnati-area House seat that he nearly won last summer.
The Times story said he not only was pulling out but had decided to leave politics altogether as a result of the pressure from party leaders.
Senators Charles E. Schumer of New York and Harry Reid of Nevada, y'all can fuck off, too.
