You go to war with the monkies you've got, unfortunately

KABUL, Afghanistan, July 2 -- An insurgent attack on a British base killed two soldiers and an Afghan interpreter, military officials said Sunday, while at least 20 insurgents were killed in clashes and coalition airstrikes.

An AH-64 Apache attack helicopter crashed Saturday in an accident in southern Afghanistan, killing one crew member, the U.S. military said.

The deaths came during a massive anti-Taliban campaign in southern Afghanistan involving more than 10,000 Afghan and international soldiers. It is the largest military offensive since the Taliban government was ousted in a U.S.-led invasion in late 2001.

I think we need to have a lot more discussion on Afghanistan before the fall elections this year. Remember, this is the one that we *all* supported. Karl Rove can't spin this into a Dems are weak on terrorism tale when it's the Bush junta who took their eye off the ball and left the Afghans vulnerable to the resurgence of the Taliban. Dems are tough on terror. We just don't believe in doing things half-assed, or running around half-cocked. Spin that, motherfuckers.
