Schumer, Feinstein : Anyone but Gonzo will do.

In announcing her support for the nominee, Feinstein said: "First and foremost, Michael Mukasey is not Alberto Gonzales. Rather, he has forged an independent life path as a practitioner of the law and a federal judge in the Southern District of New York."

The announcements by Feinstein and Schumer overshadow the disclosure today by the committee's chairman, Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.), that he would vote against Mukasey because of his refusal to say whether waterboarding constitutes torture.

Once he is approved by the Judiciary panel, Mukasey is expected to get through the full Senate more easily with support from Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) a number of moderate and conservative Democrats.

I'm ready for a boatload of worthless dems to start announcing their retirement. What kind of job criteria is this for one of the most powerful positions in our nation's government? I'm sick of Dems that are completely indistinguishable from repubs.
